Advanced Diagnostic Services & Instrumentation in Bhinmal
Nahar Hospital’s laboratory is powered by world-class automation, ensuring rapid turnaround times and unmatched precision through integration with our Hospital Information System (HIS).
1. Biochemistry
-
Instrument: Roche cobas®
Details: A fully automated modular system for clinical chemistry and immunochemistry. It features high-speed processing, an ISE module for electrolytes, and ultrasonic mixing to ensure zero-error results for liver, kidney, and lipid profiles.
2. Haematology
-
Instruments: Sysmex XN-L 550 & XNL-33
Details: Utilizing Fluorescence Flow Cytometry, these 6-part differential analyzers provide deep insights into blood health. The XN-550 offers automated sampling and reflex testing, while the XN-33 ensures precision in a compact format.
3. Bacteriology & Mycology
-
Instruments: VITEK® 2 Compact & BACT/ALERT® 3D
Details:- BACT/ALERT 3D: Provides 24/7 continuous monitoring for blood cultures to detect infections at the earliest possible stage.
- VITEK 2 Compact: Automated identification of bacterial and fungal pathogens, providing Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing (AST) to determine the most effective treatment.
4. Serology
-
Instrument: mini VIDAS®
Details: An automated immunoassay analyzer using ELFA (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay) technology. It provides high-sensitivity testing for infectious diseases (HIV, Hepatitis), hormones, and emergency cardiac markers.
5. Clinical Pathology
Methodology: Manual & Automated Microscopic Examination
This specialized division focuses on the analysis of physical and chemical properties of body fluids and cell samples.
- Clinical Pathology: Comprehensive analysis of urine, stool, and semen to detect metabolic disorders, renal diseases, and gastrointestinal infections.
6. Cytopathology
Methodology: Manual & Automated Microscopic Examination
- Cytology (FNAC & Pap Smear): Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) and exfoliative cytology (like Pap Smears) are used for the early detection of precancerous cells and the diagnosis of inflammatory or malignant tumors with high diagnostic accuracy.
7. Histopathology
- Definitive Diagnosis: While other tests suggest the presence of a tumor, Histopathology is the only way to confirm if a growth is benign (harmless) or malignant (cancerous).
- Treatment Guidance: Beyond diagnosis, histopathology tells the surgeon if the "margins" are clear—meaning whether the entire tumor was successfully removed or if further surgery is required.
- Infection & Inflammation: It is essential for diagnosing complex inflammatory conditions or chronic infections that cannot be identified via blood tests alone.
